11/46.- Madrid, Parque del Retiro, Entrance

Parque del Retiro is Madrid's major park. Many "Madrileños" come here on weekends for a walk.

As you will see on the following photos, the park is very beautiful. It has wonderful gardens, a great lake, a Museum, two palaces: the Crystal Palace and the Velazquez Palace and a Church: the San Jeronimo Church --where Isabel and Fernando, the Catholic Monarchs, were crowned. They were the ones who sent Columbus to America.
