Lyon, Saint-Nizier Church
In this nice old church the mayors of Lyon used to be invested.
The church was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, and it is an
example of the late French Gothic style.
The church sits in the Presquile peninsula, which used to be fortified,
and it was the city's administrative and business center for several
centuries. Currently it is one of the most active districts in Lyon,
thanks to its large pedestrian streets, with its shops, theaters,
restaurants, department stores and cinemas.
Some other important monuments in the Presquile peninsula, are
the Opera House, the Saint Pierre Fine Arts Museum, the Town Hall
and the Célestins Theater. On the following pages we will visit
