Lisbon has a vivid cultural life. The city’s trademark is the "Fado", a nostalgic and melancholic art, that combines elements of narrative poetry and singing. Fadistas sing about faded glory and past romances. In the High district (Bairro Alto, at our back) you’ll find many Fado joints.
