13.- Kilkenny, St. Francis Abbey

Kilkenny is the city where Smithwick's has been brewed since the 18th century.  Shown here is the entrance to the St. Francis Abbey Brewery owned by the Guinness Company.  The ruins of the abbey can be seen.  Also brewed here is Budweiser, under license to the American Budweiser company, and is surprisingly popular here in Ireland.  They also brew the popular Kilkenny lager.
