11.- Kilkenny, Grace's Castle

Just past the Thosel on High Street, is Grace's Castle (1210).  The castle was later converted into a jail.  The guide for our walking tour let us visit one very small, windowless cells that four to six people had to share. In the 18th century it was finally converted into a courthouse, which is what it is today.
