41/50.- Tuscany, Siena Fountain

The rectangular Fonte Gaia (Fountain of Joy) is another symbol of the city’s wealth and power. Built and inaugurated in 1348, it was in 1419 decorated with marble panels sculptured by Jacopo Della Quercia.
