16/50.- Umbria, Orvieto, Etruscan Graveyard (2)

The cemetery takes the form of a small town, where the « streets » are lined with funeral chambers closed by a heavy rectangular stone. Each lintel (the stone beam above the opening) bears an inscription in Etruscan script, and each tomb is marked by a strange acorn-like top.
