15/50.- Umbria, Orvieto, Etruscan Graveyard (1)

At the foot of the cliffs supporting the city of Orvieto, archaeologists have discovered a large Etruscan cemetery. Etruscan tombs took the form of funeral chambers with decorated walls (some of the frescoes have been retrieved and are now displayed in the Orvieto Museums) and filled with precious objects, among which Greek black- and red-figured vases, which the Etruscans must have received in exchange for their products.
