8/20.- St. Stephen, Meteora, Greece

This is St. Stephen (or Ayiou Stefano), actually a convent rather than a monastery.

While touring the various sites here, you will see the occasional monk and nun (usually in the gift shops or selling the tickets!) but you will see many more tourists. I visited in March, when the crush of visitors wasn't too bad, but I'm told that in summer Meteora gets very crowded.
