7/24.- Polygonal Wall, Delphi, Greece

Now we approach the ruins of the great Temple of Apollo itself. The temple was constructed on a large retaining wall, built of polygonal masonry (seen here) around 550 BCE. It's pretty amazing how the builders were able to fit together all those odd-shaped stones, like a jigsaw puzzle.
