22/26.- Excursions from Glasgow. Bridge of the Atlantic

Just some 12 miles south of Oban , off the A816, is the Bridge of the Atlantic, a funny wee bridge that takes you high into the sky and then quickly down the other side onto the Isle of Seil. It was built in 1792 by a Mr. John Stevenson. There's only one lane, so you need to breathe in as you wind your way along the narrow winding road. One comforting thought is that when you're dealing with just one lane, then you don't have to worry about remembering to drive on the left! There is no left or right, just the middle of the road. Oh no! Keep your foot hovering above the brake, just to be on the safe side, for you never know what's coming around that bend in the road.
