17/26.- Excursions from Glasgow. Oban McCaig's Tower
What a fancy tower on the hill overlooking Oban. Named after
the banker John Stuart McCaig, the tower was built in 1897.
The idea behind it was to give work to the local stonemasons,
and also to act as a monument to his family. Glad Mr. McCaig
thought to construct this circular piece of architecture.
