16/26.- Excursions from Glasgow. Oban From Ferry
Continue on from Inverary along the A819 and the A85 to reach
Oban. The town of Oban, Gaelic for Little Bay, is a wee gem
that sparkles even on a cloudy day.
If you've come by train, the train station is adjacent to the
port, so you can clamber down and step onto a ferry which will
whisk you away to Mull, or Iona, to name just two of the many
islands that you can visit. There are dozens of bed and breakfasts,
hotels, and self-catering properties in Oban, if you're interested
in spending a few days in the area. In the distance, on the
hill, is the famous McCaig's Tower.
