Geneva, "Pont de la Machine"
Now that we know the "Rive Gauche" (Left Bank, or
southern bank) well, it is time to visit the "Rive Droite"
(Right Bank, north of the Rhône). To get there you have
to cross one of the bridges over the Rhone River. The one in
the picture is the "Pont de la Machine". Here you
will also find a tourist information desk.
If you need any tourist information in Geneva, do contact the
tourist office. They have tons of information in several languages.
They have free maps and travel guides. They can also provide
you with information about cheap accommodations, as well as
information on restaurants, museums, shopping and excursions.
If you get to Geneva and do not have a place to stay, look
for a bus run by the "Centre d'Accueil et de Renseignements"
parked at the Train Station. They will help you out.
There are some publications that can be useful while visiting
Geneva: "Geneve Agenda", "Genève: Le Guide"
and "La Clef".
