15/42.- Geneva, Saint Peter's facade

Menu

Although you may think this is a courthouse or an official building, it actually is the Cathedral's neoclassic facade. It replaced the old Gothic one in the middle of the 18th century.

Other charms of the cathedral are its organ, which performs a melody every hour, and the Clémence, the biggest of the cathedral's bells, with more than 6,000 kilograms!!

Inside the cathedral you will also find the chapel of the Maccabees, which was built in order to serve as a tomb, was for a while an auditory for philosophy courses, and was, finally, used as a Protestant chapel.
