Aix-en-Provence: Saint Sauveur Cathedral
The cathedral of Aix, named Saint Sauveur (Holy Redeemer), is a surprising
composite structure in which all styles, from the 5th until the 17th century, are artfully but not always harmoniously combined. The Romance cloister, however, is particularly elegant with its twin columns surmounted
by sculptured capitals.
