16/43.- Florence, Palazzo
Pitti
The Palazzo Pitti
was constructed in 1450. Luca Pitti, the local rival of
the Medici family, ordered its construction. A century
later, in 1549, the palace was purchased by the
Medicis.
Inside this more
than 200 meters wide facade visitors can experience how
the late Medici family members lived.
Behind the 'Palazzo Pitti' there is the 'Giardino di Boboli',
with the 'Fontana del Baco'. This fountain's sculpture represents
Boboli (the Cosme I de Medici Courts dwarf) mounted on a turtle.
