13/29.- Flanders: Antwerp

Antwerp, situated on the Scheldt estuary, is among the largest port facilities in Europe. The first basin was dug at the initiative of Napoleon Bonaparte, and still bears the name of Bonaparte Dock. Today, the commercial harbor stretches for miles along the river. Along the quay, a promenade has been built, which offers a view both of the river and of the city.
