There are many reasons to travel to Scotland, from its two biggest cities, Edinburgh and Glasgow, to the Highlands and Islands. On the following pages, you will find a virtual tour of Glasgow and a tour of one-day excursions from Glasgow.

You can get to Scotland from abroad directly by plane to Edinburgh's and Glasgow's airports, or flying into London or Manchester, and from there by train.

The cheapest way of getting around in Scotland is by bus. Renting a car and trains are also convenient means of transportation.

Glasgow

Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, has mediaeval roots and began as a small village situated close to the River Clyde. What was once thought to be merely old has been reclaimed as part of our history, and the city has leapt forward embracing not only the present, but the future - a future with solid roots that the most important commodity of all, the people, stimulate. Glasgow is vibrant.

Excursions from Glasgow are really smashing. You can be out of the city and "doon by the water" or somewhere completely different in no time. That's the beauty of living in a small country! Off we go to Ayr, Loch Lomond, Inverary, Oban, Isle of Seil, and Loch Awe.
