Although the 'Chateau de Chambord' was designed by
the French architect Domenico da Cortona, Italian
influences are evident everywhere. Leonardo da Vinci
inspired its construction.
The structure of the castle seems simple, but it is
rather complex. A four-towered rectangle square encircles
the inner four-towered central building. This photo was
shot inside the central square. At our right you see one
of the towers of the walls that surround the castle. At
our left is one of the towers of the inner
building.
In the middle of the building at the left sits one
of the master pieces of the Renaissance, the double
spiral staircase ...
