If you like to drive, challenging as this road is, you might find yourself wishing you had rented a car, instead of having taken the bus. The Sorrento to Amalfi road makes for an exciting drive and there are places along it where you can park and admire the stunning views. If you go by the local public bus then of course you have to follow the set timetable. Amalfi is full of great big buses all of which are full of great big tourists, and the buses just keep arriving one after the other. But you made it, so you might as well walk about.
