38/43.- Cadaques, Sa
Sabolla
We are now by Sa
Conca, a nudist beach (at our left). If you keep walking
you'll get to another beach: Sa Sabolla.
Cadaques has been like an island for a long time. Big mountains
(Es Peni and Es Bufadors) isolated the town by land for several years.
There was only a small road that led to Roses and Figueres. The trip
used to last several hours. The current road to Figueres was built
at the beginning of the 20th century. Currently it only takes 30/40
minutes to get to Figueres. Before the construction of this road the
easiest way to get to Cadaques was by sea. It was normal that many
locals had never been in Figueres (40 Km away) or Barcelona (180 km
away), but had been several times in America, especially in Cuba.
