You can see here
two of the most famous bridges in town: the
Széchenyi Bridge (at your left, also known as
Chain Bridge) and the Erzébet Bridge. The original
Erzsébét Bridge was constructed in 1903,
and it was the largest single arched bridge in Europe.
But the Germans bombed it in 1945. The cable bridge was
re-opened in 1964. Its original form was not used due to traffic routing and expense of rebuilding.
On the other side
of the river sits Pest, and on this side Buda. Can you
see the green dome at the right of the image, Thats
the Royal Palaces dome, and thats where
well go right now. Its a five minute
