Bucharest, The Academy of Economical Studies
This is the University in Bucharest dealing with things such as Commerce. The
old building, here shown,in Romana square was built in 1926 following plans
by the architects Gr Cerchez and the Dutch Van Saanen-Algi. The facade is not
so ornate but the house on the left makes up for the apparently Spartan
outlook of the ensemble. Romana Square is a large, crowded intersection in
Bucharest and nearby food outlets and shops have flourished since it is
regarded as one of the most fashionable areas in the city.
