The Sablon Square (a place much frequented by antiques lovers)
is surrounded by 48 statuettes representing the various Brussels
trades and corporations. This one represents a coppersmith with
a cauldron and a jug. Has it ever occurred to you that a great
many of these trades have given rise to surnames (Fowler, Cooper,
Thatcher, Archer, Baker, Hunter, Smith, ...)?
