6/39.- Brno, Modern Style House

Brno has a long trade tradition. Already in 1348 king Charles IV ordered the merchants from the countries in the zone to transport their merchandise exclusively through Brno. The city became the official capital of Moravia in 1641. Brno has been unsuccessfully besieged several times: in 1424 by the Hussites, in 1643 by the Swedish armies in the 30 years war and in 1742 by the Prussian troops.
