24/30.- Bilbao, "San Francisco de Asis"

At the beginning of the 20th century a Basque Nationalist Movement emerged, and Bilbao became its main center. The Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) was started by the city Burgesses in order to claim the lost rights of the Basques. Nowadays PNV is the first Party in Euskadi, and it controls the autonomous government. Another Nationalist party is Batasuna (formerly HB) related to ETA, whose members fight for the independence of the Basque Country.
