2/38.- Balaruc, Ramparts

The town is built around a feudal castle which had different owners (earls and bishops) from the 10th until the 18th century. It is surrounded by circular ramparts, and the streets inside follow the circular pattern of the city walls. The layout is typical of the region, and known by the name of "circulade". In recent times, the walls have been repaired, and the view is impressive.
