In Vietnam supermarkets are only for foreigners (and at foreign prices too). Locals buy in shops or in the markets. By the way, I have not tasted better vegetables anywhere else. Fruits and vegetables are always fresh in Vietnam. I guess vegetables also taste better in Vietnam because they use less chemicals in the fields. If you buy in a market or in a local shop, remember the basic travel norm: peel it, boil it, or forget it.
