Most of the local guides that will accompany you in these excursions are young university students of tourism with a good command of the English language. They do not get a good salary, but most of them enjoy what they do. Vietnamese are very friendly and curious. Talking with your tourist guides you can learn a lot about the local customs and traditions.

Tourist guides do not expect a tip, but if they do a good job, you can always give them something.
