North of the city, between the Xom Bong Bridge and the Hon Chong Bridge, lie the Po Nagar Cham Towers. They were built between the 8th and 13th centuries. They were originally dedicated to the Hindu goddess Po-Negar, but the temples were later appropriated by the Mahayana Buddhists. Only four towers are still standing. Each of the remaining towers is dedicated to a unique deity. The tallest one is dedicated to Po Nagar, the wife of Shiva. Another of the towers is dedicated to Shiva, one of the three most powerful deities in Hinduism. The third is dedicated to Ganexa, the son of Shiva.
