25/50.-Hue, Buddhist Pagoda detail

Although this is a communist country with no official religion, most of the Vietnamese are Buddhist. In every temple you go, you will see locals praying. The cult to the deaths is very popular.

In a country where almost nobody protests, some of the Buddhist monks have been politically very active. For this reason some of them have been imprisoned. Nowadays the corrupt communist regime tolerates the Buddhist religion. Temples do not receive any government support, though.
