West Lake, with more than 480 hectares, is the biggest lake in Hanoi. Several Pagodas and temples are situated nearby the lakeside road. One of them is the Phu Tay Ho.

In ancient times many palaces where built in the area as a resort for kings. Nowadays exclusive residential apartments are being built in this district.
