Not far from West Lake, on Ba Dinh Square sits the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Inside this mausoleum, inspired by the one of Lenin, the corpse of the Vietnamese leader is on display. To visit the mummified body you have to come early in the morning. After waiting in line for several minutes, you will enter a freezing room where locals pay respect to the leader of the Vietnamese revolution. Although communism is long gone, Ho Chi Minh is still a very respected person. Some people revere him as a god.
Some travel guides say the body is brought to Russia every year to be restored, but I am not sure if this is true. You do have to pay a small entry fee. With the ticket, you also get access to Uncle Ho's house.
