30/37.- Taipei, Daan District

Trendy nightlife spots tend to be a fickle proposition in the always eclectic world of urban hipsters and such is the case in Taiwan, but Carnegie's on AnHe Rd. (Some of the murals adorning its facade are pictured here) is a Taipei institution and sure to be filled with the city’s “in crowd.” During the day it is a deli specializing in tasty sandwiches but in the evening it turns into a madhouse with patrons often dancing on tables. Attending a night session often requires a fairly long wait, not only on weekends (when long lines can be expected) but sometimes during the week as well.
