Another must-see museum in Taipei is the Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines. This Museum is located in the Shilin district (Chihshan Road) and throughout its four floors the visitor is treated to more than a thousand artifacts from the various indigenous tribes that inhabited present-day Taiwan before the arrival of Europeans in the 16th century. The museum’s gift shop also has various types of the aborigines’ handicrafts and artwork on sale.
