24/50.- Tokyo, Meiji Shrine, ceremony

Next to Yoyogi Park is the Shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken, the Meiji Shrine.

Emperor Meiji died in 1912. He was one of the responsibles of the modernization and westernization of Japan.

The day I visited the shrine there was a Shinto traditional wedding. In the picture you can see the bride.
