16/31.- Osaka, Temmangu Shrine

Temmangu is a Shinto Shrine dedicated to Sugawara-no-Michizane, a scholar, originally built in the 10th century. The current wooden structures are from the 19th century.

The Temmangu Shrine is famous for the Tenjin Festival, one of the top three in Japan.

You can get to the Temmangu Shrine by subway (Temmangu Station).
