8/31.- Osaka, Osaka Castle, Hokoku Shrine

Another of the highlights in the area of Kyobashi is the Hokoku Shrine, southwest of Osaka Castle.

The Meiji Emperor ordered the erection of two shrines in the 19th century to honor Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one in Kyoto and one in Nakanoshima. The latter one was moved to Osaka in 1961.
