2/45.- Varanasi, one hundred Ghats

In the picture you have one of the famous Ghats. Ghat is the name locals give to the stairs that lead to the river, where thousands of pilgrims come to bathe and worship with the first lights of the day.

There are more than one hundred Ghats in Varanasi. They are on the west bank of the river Ganges, which flows from south to north.
