Other famous water cities in the region are:

Zhujiajiao, 47 km from Shanghai, with over one thousand houses of the Ming and Qing style, its canals, its ancient bridges and its gardens. The most famous landmarks are the Baoguo Temple, the Fangsheng Bridge, the Town God's Temple and the Zhuxi Garden.

Wuzhen, 140 km from Shanghai, is more than 1200 years old. You can visit the Lizhi Study House, Weaving and Dying Workshop.
