Bayon was the royal temple at the heart of the Angkor Thom royal palace compound. It's probably the second most famous site here after Angkor Wat. It's a large "temple mountain" and is best known for the giant carved stone faces on many of the towers. In addition to tourists and guides, you are likely to find here at least a few budding artists sketching the views and faces.
