13.- Annapurna Circuit, Pisang to Manang

Our seventh day will take us from Pisang to Manang. We are now in the drier part of the Manang district. There are some alternative trails north and south of the Marsyangdi River. They all meet at Mungji.

We are now at more than 3300 meters (10,800 ft). In Manang there are many Hotels. It’s very important to spend at least one day here to acclimatize, it’s extremely dangerous to climb the 2000 meters (6,500 ft) to La Pass without the acclimatization period. At this altitude the effects of the altitude can be serious, so if you’re not feeling 100% well, stay here till the effects are gone. There’s a medical center here that won’t let you go if you’re not ready.
