22/23.- Vancouver Island, Mount Washington ski chalets

Mount Washington is a small-but-fantastic ski resort that has avoided becoming too commercial, allowing you to live in a snow-buried lodge in the winter. The skiing or snowboarding (or sliding down a hill in a special tire tube) is excellent and the pleasant walks during the summer along trails meandering through wildflowers means this is a year-round destination.
