43.- The stone house in Las Virgenes
The stone house in Las Virgenes was built in
1880 and is still in family hands (an elderly lady
who is a distant cousin lives there). It is also
where my great-grandmother was born. I wanted to
write my next novel there. It was to be called
"Three Valleys". I also wanted to use it as a
location in "Canto de Cuba". It would be the home
of Consuelo de San Carlos, a girl from an old
family who is prepared for the return of something
that died a long time ago.
