In order to get to Tijuana from San Diego, you can go with your own car, by public transport, or on an organized tour.

To get to Tijuana from San Diego with your own car, you have to drive south on I-5. Once in San Ysidro, you can leave your car in the border parking lots. From the parking, you can cross the border on foot. In order to get to Mexico, you only have to walk through two metal turnstiles.
