1/29.- Welcome to Treasure Beach
and the Black River
The Treasure Beach area, on the southwest coast of Jamaica, is quickly becoming a popular destination among off the beaten path aficionados. Treasure Beach lies between the Black River and the Alligator Pond. The lack of the mass tourism development that has transformed the other tourist destinations in the island, makes of this area one of the most isolated ones in the Caribbean.
The area is quite drier than the north coast. Rain is a very strange phenomenon. This affects the landscape, less green than on the rest of the island.
If you come with me, I will try to show you some beautiful sites in this remote destination. I will also take you on a Photographic Tour of the Black River, where we will see the crocodiles that inhabit it. On the way to the Black River we will stop in the middle of the sea, where if we are lucky, we will swim with wild dolphins.
