The best of the all-inclusive properties is that you can leave your money, credit cards and traveler checks in your safe box. Everything is included. You only will need the money to buy a souvenir. The bad thing is that if you do not leave the complex, your money will not get to the people who most need it, the locals. I talked to some Jamaicans and they complained about this. People are spending a lot of money to come to Jamaica, but Jamaican people do not make a profit from this tourism. I recommend to leave the all-inclusive an visit the local stores and restaurants. You can find good souvenirs in the resorts, but you can get better prices if you go to a crafts market located close to downtown. You will also feel better if you know the money you are spending goes to the local artists.
