Menu

This is the powder house where the ammunition used to be stored. Montego Bay's port had a strategic importance to secure the exportation of the tropical fruits. Since the first sugar canes were planted in the 18th century, sugar plantations allowed the enrichment of the area. Sugar was mainly exported to the US.

Montego Bay played also an important military role. The port could have been used to invade the island.
