11.- Fort Lauderdale, Boats along the Isle of Venice
These sailboats are clustered together, making a forest of masts. You can take a similar photo from Las Olas Boulevard, looking north, in the Seven Isles area of Fort Lauderdale. This area used to be a swamp and now it has canals for boats to rest until the owners want to cruise the New River or sail on the ocean. Fort Lauderdale is home to over 30,000 boats and we have a new bridge that is 55 feet (about 17 meters) tall, so most sail boats can go under it without waiting for the bridge to open.
