11.- Fort Lauderdale, Boats along the Isle of
Venice
These sailboats are clustered together, making a
forest of masts. You can take a similar photo from
Las Olas Boulevard, looking north, in the Seven
Isles area of Fort Lauderdale. This area used to be
a swamp and now it has canals for boats to rest
until the owners want to cruise the New River or
sail on the ocean. Fort Lauderdale is home to over
30,000 boats and we have a new bridge that is 55
feet (about 17 meters) tall, so most sail boats can
go under it without waiting for the bridge to open.
